His academic record is outstanding: first in School, first in College, first among the men in the Indian Foreign Service, first in the training programme at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, first at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade
He taught at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University from 1972-73
Among India’s most loved television figures he was short-listed by a woman’s magazine as one of the “most sensational personalities” in India. He has acted in commercial films

Ambassador Vohra spent four years with Sulabh International, the world’s largest NGO dealing with sanitation and is the author of best-selling books
He has specialized in developmental issues in remote areas and National Renaissance for emerging nations. In October 2005, Armenia awarded him a gold medal and named a school after him. Sudan gave him its highest civilian honour and in 2006, he was made Prince of an African tribe

Not many know that when Indian oil workers were kidnapped in Sudan in 2007, Ambassador Vohra offered himself in exchange for the hostages. In 2014, he went to a remote Ebola-affected area of Guinea to help the villagers, venturing where angels feared to tread
